Community Standards

We live our values! Respect, equality and unity, empowerment, care and curiosity. Our goal is to build a community based on these values. We welcome you to join PitchIn if you can identify with our values. Persons who are registered with PitchIn are hereinafter referred to as "users".

By using PitchIn you agree not to misuse our services yourself or to help others to do so. If PitchIn believes that the following guidelines have been disregarded and intentionally or repeatedly violated, PitchIn may deny your access to the application without giving any reason.

1) Respect

We maintain a respectful environment on PitchIn. Deference, respect and consideration will be shown to all users, whether in posts or other actions on PitchIn. Profanity, abuse, insults, hostility, hateful language and the like will not be tolerated. You should feel safe and welcome in our community. Condescending, hurtful or ridiculing comments have no place in our community and are to be reported. The excessive use of emojis can also be considered disturbing and should therefore be avoided. Sharing posts that are not suitable for young people will not be tolerated. In order to also maintain respect for PitchIn itself, posts containing Trojans, viruses or other malware are prohibited and will be immediately deleted and legally prosecuted. Disrupting or interrupting any user, host or network, especially by malware or by overloading, flooding, spamming or mail-bombing any part of our services is considered an abusive act. Obtaining access to, tampering with, or using non-public areas or portions of the Services or shared areas of the Services for which you have not been authorized is unauthorized.

2) Acceptance and Unity

Equality and unity, two values that mean a lot to us. You and any other person who can identify with our values is welcome. Discrimination of any kind speaks against our values and leads to exclusion from the community. Racist, sexist, homophobic or similar statements are not allowed and will not be accepted. Advocates of hate or discrimination against persons or groups of persons on the basis of their race, religion, ethnic origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or impairment have no place on PitchIn! We ask you to report groups with inappropriate content, purpose or violence. This also applies to posts that appear discriminatory. After PitchIn has become aware of these, they will be deleted and under certain circumstances criminal action will be taken.

3) Advertising

Commercial advertising via PitchIn must be explicitly agreed with PitchIn and is otherwise to be refrained from.

4) Communication

Through PitchIn's functions we create useful and valuable connections for you, which usually end in direct communication between two or more users. We strive for open and constructive communication via PitchIn. Your opinions and views should be comprehensibly justified and, if possible, supported with sources and facts. We expect you to deal with the opinions and views of other users in a factual and well-founded manner. Discussions and constructive criticism are welcome as long as they are factual and appropriately formulated.

5) Laws and legal regulations

Laws and regulations must be observed by all users at all times. We ask you to report posts with inappropriate and unlawful content. Communications, postings, sharing or sharing of content that is defamatory, discriminatory, defamatory, misleading or otherwise unlawful or indecent and incitement to violence will not be tolerated. Furthermore, the posting or sharing of unlawful pornographic or indecent content or content containing extreme acts of violence will not be tolerated. PitchIn may hold its users responsible for their postings. If appropriate or required by law, PitchIn may disclose your information to third parties or authorities.

6) Protection and Security

We ask you not to disclose your personal or sensitive information or that of other users, or details of your private life. Your security is very important to us! If a connection is made with someone and it comes to a real meeting, we recommend that you have a good look at the profile and ratings of this user beforehand. Only use PitchIn's chat platform and do not give out an email address or mobile phone number until you have met them in person and feel comfortable. If a person, situation or profile seems questionable, unsafe or weird, cancel the meeting and report the profile. Even during a meeting, you should always make your boundaries clear and, if in doubt about the other person's good nature, simply leave. If something doesn't work out, know your options and always have a backup plan. We are very grateful if you report negative experiences to the PitchIn team without hesitation! This will help us to ensure the safety of our users.

By misuse we mean in particular the following actions or their attempt:

  • Actions that violate the privacy or rights of other people or users.

  • Sending unsolicited messages, advertisements, commercials or spam.

  • Sending altered, misleading or false sender information, including "spoofing" and "phishing".

  • Selling our services to third parties without our prior written consent.

  • Checking, scanning or testing the vulnerability of our technical systems.

  • Breaching or otherwise circumventing our security or authentication measures.

  • Accessing or browsing the Services or creating accounts for the Services other than through our publicly available user interface, such as by scraping or mass account creation.

Every post, profile and chat has a reporting feature. Mostly represented as 3 dots. You can report inappropriate behaviour directly via the platform or via email to info@pitchin.me. You also have the option of blocking individual users.

PitchIn can check your contributions on a random basis and delete them without giving reasons if they do not comply with the rules of conduct or terms of use. Legal recourse is excluded. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact PitchIn (info@pitchin.me).

PitchIn is entitled to change these rules of conduct at any time and may terminate your authorisation to use the service if you violate or disregard these rules of conduct. Should individual provisions of these Terms of Use or the Privacy Policy be or become invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
